“Claude” artist of illumination
In coercion of elaborated Christmas rhyme Trees dimmed and porches resumed architectural silhouettes And traffic lights rested In their 4/4 time
Steel egrets with brilliant bulbous-beaks Closed their mouths over asphalt streams
Twice the days a week Seven days hold An appearance I don’t quite understand.
It’s been years since I was banned From the tribe or the land Still the approach Something cloaked From day night and light of man
Through night as thick as mud Walked beyond the store fronts And like friends estranged by longitudinal lines We savored the time Saying nothing As street lamps Candle Window Love Lights- Dimmed way.
