i remember a time
when i would have separated my hand
from my wrist
for clean sheets
pillows
and a bed

but i would have kept my hand
if i knew the pillows would
flatten
the bed springs bend

though clean sheets dirtied
by your sweat
and OUR love
i would have given
an
entire
arm.
