orange juice and bagels were sprawled over the collapsible table, flies hovered above the table and trash bin set beside it. they don’t serve coffee at places like this. plastic cups and cutlery set atop the miserable red vinyl table covering, the uncomfortable folding chairs that burn skin with their sub-zero temperature, the scent of drunkards and old women who played bingo the night before; blinking tube lights that make one think they’re batting their eyes too frequently, all add to the personality of the meeting. the pale blue and rose cafeteria flooring ached beneath the sliding feet of the chairs.
